About Museroll
Privacy
How optional Google Analytics, local consent choices, hosting, and museum images work on Museroll.
Optional analytics
When enabled by the operator, Museroll offers Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and art practice tools people use and where loading problems occur. Analytics starts only after you choose “Accept analytics”. Before you accept, or if you decline, Museroll does not load Google's analytics script or send analytics requests. All practice tools work without analytics.
After acceptance, Google receives technical information including your IP address and browser/device information and uses first-party analytics cookies such as _ga and a property-specific _ga_… cookie. Museroll sends known page paths and a small set of practice actions, such as generating an exercise or starting a timer. Museroll excludes URL query strings and fragments, artwork titles, image and source URLs, email addresses, and free-form text from its explicit analytics events. Google may also produce session and engagement events.
Museroll disables advertising consent, Google Signals, and advertising personalization in its analytics configuration. Google processes analytics data; its processing may involve countries outside your own. Read Google's privacy policy and Google Analytics data collection information for details. The operator configures retention and measurement settings in Google Analytics.
Your choice
Use “Analytics settings” in the footer, when analytics is configured, to accept or decline at any time. Declining after acceptance stops further Museroll events, removes this site's Google Analytics cookies where the browser permits, and reloads the page to unload the analytics script. It does not erase data already sent to Google. Your accepted or declined choice is stored in your browser's local storage under museroll.analytics-consent.v1. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice applies to the current page only. Clearing site data resets your choice.
Accounts and messages
Museroll has no advertising tags, account system, contact form, or uploads. A backend queries museum APIs for reference metadata and image links. Challenge selection, filtering, and timers run in your browser.
Reference cards link to their original collection sources. Those external sites have their own privacy practices. If you email Museroll, your email provider and the operator may process the information you choose to send in order to reply or address the request.
Hosting and museum images
The hosting server processes requests to deliver the site and API. It may record technical error logs. Reference metadata is cached temporarily in memory. Images load directly from museum servers, which receive your IP address and browser request information and apply their own privacy policies.
Contact and changes
